At the invitation of the Medien- und IT-Netzwerk Trier Luxemburg e.V. (MITL), Green Party Chairwoman Simone Peter met with a best practice employer from the Trier region on 1 March 2016: The company BITControl found a Syrian programmer via the online platform WORKEER and has employed him permanently as a software developer since November 2015.
The report by BITControl Managing Director Norbert Meyer and his new colleague Ashraf Abou Assaf kicked off a discussion on the opportunities for the German economy through the integration of refugees into the labour market. Among others, the Green Party member of parliament Corinna Rüffer and representatives of other parties as well as other companies and the Federal Employment Agency were also present.
